Solo Exhibition by Philomena Lauprecht.
For the last event of the exhibition series Against Evil Company Philomena Lauprecht presents her own reworking of the songbook „Divine and Moral Songs for Children“ (1654). Through her paintings and musically adaptation she confronts the influential and cognitive power of morality on the basis of devotional songs. A very distorting decomposition of the aesthetics of hymn writing.
Philomena Lauprecht, born 1990 in Duisburg, studied film and art at the acadamy of fine arts in Hamburg. For her artistic research, she uses motifs from mythology and icons of popular culture to reflect its impact on ritual practices of everyday life and the question of a collective consciousness. As a singer and guitarist she plays in the Hamburg based Art-Pop Band Die Maßnahme.
